Watersports |
Kitesurfing |
|
Kitesurfing is a relatively new sport, exciting to watch due to it's aerobatic aspect for the most part. So in the last few years I have taken many images illustrating the excitement and vibrance of this new sport.

| Surfing |
|
Surfing has been around for a long time and has shown incredible stamina and reinvented itself again and again. It started out with Hawaiians using classic teak long boards until in the 60's the fiberglass long board came about, followed by the short board...
Surfing is definitely a classic watersport with its own set of interesting and captivating characters. I enjoy shooting surfing, from the shore or from the water. There is always another wave with a surfer doing an outrageous cutback, hanging five or floating temporarily suspended on the lip of a just breaking monster.

| Windsurfing |
|
This is the sport that got me personally involved in water sports. In the mean time I have been at it for 25 years and more and believe it or not and I am still loving it.
Windsurfing is very diverse and has gone through an incredible transformation from the original windsurfer to the present day's high end equipment allowing jumps and spins, loops as well as the classical wave riding maneuvers of surfing.
I like to wave ride myself more than any other facet of windsurfing, living in Cabarete in the Dominican Republic allows me to do so on tropical warm waters. From the photography aspect fast action, challenging conditions and good size waves lead to the most rewarding final image.

My home country and home away from home... |
Switzerland |
|
Images from Switzerland. Every time I return home I appreciate the place for what it is; a well run place with friendly if a bit reserved folks.

| Dominican Republic |
|
Image slide show from the Dominican Republic. The differences are striking, opposites of the spectrum of countries. I like living in the DR for it's simplified lifestyle. Life is a beach after all!
|
DREAM Project |
|
The DREAM (Dominican Republic Education and Mentoring Project) has provided me with the opportunity to get involved in the local community and show in images the present educational conditions often lacking in even the most basic, document the improvements made through DREAM and it's efforts. You can find them at: http://www.dominicandream.org
The local children are always a great source of inspiration and they all love the camera!

Panoramas |
|
The panoramas I create are digital composites, merged in photoshop. The large vistas of the American Southwest often just scream for the wide angle / panorama approach, no other way of photographing these wide open spaces does them justice.
I got just a few I want to share with you!

Jazz |
|
Images from the 2003 and 2004 Dominican Jazz Festival. In recent years this event found at: http://www.drjazzfestival.com has managed to attract some great local, Caribbean and international Jazz musicians Let me introduce you to a few.

Architecture |
|
Over the years I have photographed many different architectural designs, private homes, villas and hotels. Here are a few impressions!

Aerial Photography |
|
Finishing this web site I noticed that I still needed to place images of my aerial photography. It requires soma advance study of the subject, good weather, a pilot that is easy to work with, preferably one that has worked with photographers before, a bit of specialized gear and quick reflexes.

| Wedding Images |
|
Wedding photography is challenging, you have usually only one chance to get any given shot. Again preparation, talking with the bride and groom about specifics, backup gear and attention to detail yield great results. I have just a few images of local weddings, held here in Cabarete.
